Chelsea & Mike chose to celebrate their love during one of the prettiest times of the year, early November. This wedding took place up in Salem, MA, walking the streets was a little chilly but nothing these snow birds can’t handle {remember their engagement shoot}. Chelsea and Mike had a beautiful ceremony and reception {at Rockafellas} filled with love, laughter and lots of tears of joy. They definitely had one of the most emotional first looks of the season and during the ceremony {and speeches at the reception} there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. These two share a love that is quiet, strong and filled with adoration for eachother.

I wish them all the best as they walk through life together.

Peace, Love & Tears of Love,

Have you ever had a person in your life who always finds a way back into your heart, no matter how many years you’ve been apart? When you finally see them again, you pick up right where you left off as if nothing happened. Well this is what happened with Mike and Sarah. They met in high school and dated briefly until they went their separate ways in college… only to find each other again after college. They fell in love once again and moved in together for the past 5 years. Mike proposed to Sarah the day after her 30th birthday while they were kayaking in one of their favorite spots with a custom designed ring. Now 14 years after their very first date, they celebrated with A LOT of friends and family… it was quite the celebration.

I was so honored when Sarah asked me to document her big day… knowing how bubbly and vibrant she is I knew it would be such a fun day… and it was. Her family was so welcoming and friendly, I felt like one of them by the time I left the dance floor!

Enough of my chit chat… Sarah + Mike you’re the sweetest couple and I wish you many many years of good health, happiness and BABIES :)

Peace, Love & Thing That Are Just Meant To Be,

Oh where do I begin with this one…  she has been by my side since I was 4 years old, my partner in crime, my soul sister, the girl I grew up with who will always be just as close to me as any member of my immediate family. When she called to tell me she got engaged I was so over joyed. This is one girl who deserves to meet the man of her dreams and she found him. His gentle soul and her fierce heart are a match made to live a {high voltage} beautiful life.

She isn’t much for being the center of attention so when she told me she was having a pig roast back yard wedding I thought, that sounds great! It was the perfect day for them, the forecast called for rain all day but it only rained for a half hour. It was a quiet half hour where we sat on the porch, quietly, listening to the rain hit the creek water. She stuck her hand out, made a wish and shortly there after the rain stopped… the guests arrived and their families together with a pile of dry towels wiped the tables down under the tent. The table cloths were wrinkled and wet… a feast for any bridezilla to dive into… but she never would. For her it wasn’t about the fancy venue with the latest and greatest DJ, uplighting and the whole 9 yards. For her it was about bringing two families together in a space that she loves, his Aunts house, eating food she loves {corn on the cob, pulled pork, pasta salad} and celebrating their love!

I had so much fun this entire weekend, it was my first weekend away from Sienna! I was so happy to be behind the camera on this one because I couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing these two the way I can. After din din we headed out on the town to take a few portraits and then ended our session at the lake where we splashed and played in the water. It was incredible… I’m now convinced that only Wilson brides will jump in the water on their wedding day.

Rae & Justin I love you both dearly and can’t wait to see you grow old together :)

Peace, Love & Wet Kisses,

April K

I’m convinced that wherever Becky and Mark go, the sun is always shining. When I first met Becky and Mark last year in Southie for their engagement shoot, the sun was shining and so were they. Newly engaged and vibrant with joy, we walked around for hours while they told me stories of how they fell in love.

Fast forward to their wedding day, when forecasts called for rain, rain and more rain… there wasn’t a cloud in the sky! Of course there wasn’t, It was Becky and Mark’s wedding day… the perfect New England Autumn day. I showed up a the cutest little cottage in Plymouth where all of the girls were getting ready. The Sargent family is so warm and welcoming, the bridal party introduced themselves and we got right to it.

Afterwards, Tammy {my 2nd shooter} and I hopped over to Southers Marsh Golf Club where the ceremony and reception were being held. As soon as you pull onto this beautiful property you will see a cranberry bog that has a giant cranberry heart in the middle, amazing. Laura and her staff were incredibly punctual and on top of their game, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. The ceremony was heartfelt and emotional as well as the rest of the night. But let me tell you, once that music got pumpin that dance floor was PACKED! If there was ever a crew that loves to dance, you’re looking at them.

I was so honored to be a part of Becky and Mark’s big day and there is no doubt that they will have sunny skies from here on out!

Peace, Love & Cuttin’ Rugs,

April K

When Mackenzie booked me last year to shoot her engagement and wedding I was so excited. Not only was it an awesome location but she seemed like such a down to earth and friendly person. Fast forward to our initial client meeting I finally got to experience Mackenzie and Adams personalities…  let me tell you, they are both firecrackers! So full of energy and laughter, they told me the story of how Adam had Mackenzie’s ring custom designed through the company he works for. I got to know them much better during their engagement shoot on the Seaport, {the time I talk about that I ‘accidentally’ shot until the sun went down…} we were all having so much fun playing bocce that we lost track of time! After that day I was so excited for their wedding day that was quickly approaching.

Their wedding day couldn’t have been anymore perfect. I started out with the girls at a beach house near the harbor, all of the girls and her parents were hilariously awesome and welcoming. Mackenzie and I then headed over to the harbor to wait for Adam to post up for the First Look. I love First Looks, they’re such a quiet and intimate moment that you wouldn’t have otherwise. Adam stood at the end of the dock and Mackenzie walked up behind him. Tammy (my 2nd shooter) and I were far away so this was the most secluded they could get… how romantic. Once Adam feasted his eyes on Mackenzie the rest of the day was magical history. I captured some great memories of the wedding party on the beach before the  ceremony. The ceremony kicked off as Mackenzie was brought in on a beautiful white yacht and her father walked her down the dock instead of the aisle, in true ‘cape wedding’ fashion! The clouds rolled in as the sun set making the most perfect painterly skyline over the water.

I loved spending this day with so many amazing people who’s mission was one thing… to celebrate Mackenzie and Adam’s love. I wish them all the best on thier journey together.

Peace, Love & Magical Blue-Pink Skies,

April K

Have you ever met someone that you have an immediate love for, without knowing much about them? This is how I felt about Laura, the star of this beautiful New England Aquarium wedding. When we met for the first time in a little cafe in Brookline, we sat and talked for a while about everything but her wedding. We chatted about her passion for Pilates, how she bowed out of corporate america to follow her dreams and how her and Steve were going to be moving to Singapore for his job! I loved her already… and then she told me the story of how her and Steve met, and it was a perfect photographer/bride&groom match.

She saw this guy one day in a cafe with his beautiful dog. She said hi to the guy and he said hi but that was it… she pet the dog and went on her way. Months later she came across a guy on Match.com and they seemed to hit it off, later realizing {after meeting him in person} that this was the same guy she saw in the cafe with the beautiful dog! They were meant to be for sure and the rest was history. Zoe {the beautiful dog} made her debut on the wedding right by Steve’s side, so adorable.

Their wedding day {and love for each other}  was like a page out of a fairytale…I am certain that this outrageously adventurous and lovable couple will have many years of laughter and love ahead of them.

Peace, Love & Zoe The Matchmaker,

A love that knows no rainy days is what Erika and Benjamin have. This beautiful Stowe Mountain Resort wedding was everything “Vermont” including the crazy weather. Erika and Ben didn’t think much of it and either did I… we waited for the downpours to pass and we used it to our advantage. The freshness of the air, the depth of the clouds, the sparkle of the rain on the tiny blades of grass followed by a vibrant rainbow post ceremony.  I was in heaven while I was shooting this beautiful nuptial.

From her “Gold” dazzling shoes {her maiden name is Gold so she had to represent!} to the little tiny chair lift place “cards”, Erika & Benjamin spared no detail un-turned. This was truly a stunning celebration of love.

Peace, Love & Fresh Mountain Rainshine,

April K

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend. Lucky to have been where I have been. Lucky we’re in love in every way.

That is the song that plays in my head while I was processing these photos. I love, as a photographer, when I get a couple this visibly in love with one another… it makes my job a whole lot easier, I can tell you that much! PDA is always encouraged by me {ESPECIALLY} on your wedding day… because to me, this world needs more “sweet nothings” whispered, handholding + kisses on the cheek.

Emily & Bert met while they were training for the Boston Marathon a few years ago and the rest was history. I was so excited for this wedding because I thought, if today is anything like the engagement shoot we did, we’re going to have one hell of a time! So easy, down to earth and willing to let me into their lives so that I can capture the real deal, amazing from start to finish.

I predict Emily + Bert will be blessed with a very happy and healthy life together filled with travels and excitement.

Peace, Love & Soul-Mates,

On this warm June day, Jen and David were surrounded by their closest friends and family to help celebrate starting a life together.  A day filled with emotion, magic and surprises, it’s days like this that I’m so thankful for being able to give the gift of beautiful memories. I look forward to watching Jen and David grow their family and dancing their way through life’s journey together.
